Ok no game this week time to give this team a look.

The start of the season was horrible. We all know this we all have had our thoughts about it. But the last 3 weeks have been a HUGE improvement. If Matt Cassel didn't lose his brain for a play in San Deigo then this team could be 3-2 instead of 2-3. This is without a leader on both offense (Charles) And Defense (Berry) Anther big weapon on the team (moeaki) And not even having our 1st round pick for one play in the regular season (Baldwin)

Offense
VERY VERY inconstant. There are times they look like a top 5 offense. Then there are times where they don't even look like they belong anywhere close to an NFL field. Losing Charles probably is a factor in this but even with Charles they were not constant. OR even look good. The offense to me is the biggest area to focus on. If the offense can get it all together and not get off to the slow starts that they have in games then this team CAN WIN THE AFC WEST AGAIN. The play-calling needs to change starting games. They can't wait till we are down to do what works. This is a good offense IMO They have shown that they can put points on the board. They just have to find a way to get off to better starts.

They have done a good job cutting down on turning the ball over. I think they have only had 1 turnover the last 3 weeks. This also has to continue.

Defense.
Defense has given up a TON of points. A good number of those points have come off turnovers. And that has to be something to consider when looking at the defense as a whole. When you keep giving the other team the ball on your own side of the field of course they are going to score a bunch of points. But then there's a game like the Colts in witch the defense just looked HORRIBLE at times. To give the defense a grade I would say C. They have looked average.

The one thing that I do think is a huge plus for the offense is that late in games they have either made a stand to give the team a chance to win. Or they have made a stop to end the chances of the other team. That is something that I think is very big and very good to see.

Coaching
Much like the defense C for average.

The thing that concerns me is this team has not seemed ready to play at the start of games for the most part. They have just not been that great at the start of the game. That's on the head coach. If this team is going to make a run at getting back to the playoffs Haley has to give this team a better game plan and have this team more ready to play.

The one thing that I will say seems to be a strength is adjustments. The team has found a way to get it together in games and at least give themselves a chance in the last 3.

Overall team grade I would say C- They have just looked average. They have looked Horrible at times then like a GOOD team at others. Hopefully after the bye we see Baldwin play and help the team and The team can get off to better starts in games. This team is still in it. As bad as the season started they still have a shot. I look forward to seeing if they can get it done. :chieflogo:

My views of the team reflect poorly on the HC. If we are to believe what we read in the papers Haley is calling the plays again.

In the First quarter - I missed the game until it was 17-0 - the play selection brought back nightmares of herman edwards.
Run run pass punt. I actually walked away from the game. My son yelled when the Chiefs were on the move. I got to see the first TD, and all subsequent scoring. The Chiefs actually looked a little like the wide open style of Dick V.

I don't know if Haley turned the play selection over to the OC or maybe Zorn, but there was a very definable difference between the first Quarter and the rest of the game. The defense still looks like they belong in training camp, but they did make plays when they needed to do so.

I think Cassel looks like a leader and I think he has developed into a pinpoint passer (like everyone, not all the time) that seems able to hit the receivers in stride.

I don't know if the team can repeat as division champs or not. The teams we play this year are tougher than last years schedule, to win the division the team actually has to be better than they were last year. All we can do is wait and see.

I, too, noticed a marked difference in the play calling begining in the second quarter.

I think we may be hard pressed to beat the Raiders and possibly even the Donks this year. It's difficult to know at this point because both our wins were against winless teams. I hope we continue to grow and get better every week.
