Hey gang,

I have started three articles this season already, but this is the one that I think means most to me right now.

Let me start by saying that I am Matt Cassel fan. I have been since he came over from New England. He came into this team with a can-do attitude and he took a complete pounding day in and day out. Last year, he really showed some flashes of greatness around a team that many now say were over performing.

Agreed, Cassel is off to a slow start right now, and with the injuries to not one, but three star players, he is likely not to get much better. Seeing his struggles, the Kansas City fandom have started this "Suck for Luck" campaign.

Andrew Luck is an incredible talent and we would be stupid not to get the guy if we had the opportunity. However, there are things the Kansas City faithful fail to realize, the largest of these is our offensive line sucks worse than Matt Cassel.

Pioli and crew have been content since they came here to "make do" with an offensive line. They made a huge mistake in letting our pro-bowl guard go a year or so early, and have set this team back a couple of years.

If the Chiefs get Luck, then the Kansas fanatics are going to want to see him play. We do not have the players around him right now to protect a franchise quarterback, we are proving that with the one we have. So putting a young talented player in this game without protecting him is a recipe for disaster. I believe we all can agree that we want our QB to be successful, so not protecting him is ridiculous.

It is high time this team puts together an offensive line that we can once again be proud of, one like we had when Trent Green played the game, only younger.

suck for luck is one of the dumbiest things to come out. i said it.
next mat cassel is a back up qb and i dont care whos on the front line.the two things hes got going for him this year is we dont have a backup, and his $$$$. I wouldnt be surprised if at the end of season we are looking for a new qb,new kicker,rt and a head coach.

We need another Willie Roaf, Will Shields, Brian Waters and Casey Wiegmann.

Any team that loses on purpose to secure a draft slot doesn't deserve the fans they have.
