Throughout the years, the Kansas City Chiefs organization has prided itself on its many defensive-minded teams, especially from the 1970's through the 1990's. From Thomas to Thomas(Emmitt to Derrick) the passion, heart and desire has been there time and time again...

I was bored, so after seeing your post in the "Grease" thread at the planet, I decided to check in here and see what was going on.

I clicked on the link you provided here, and read it.

From that article:

Quote:
If it wasn't for Derrick Thomas, one could make the argument that Bobby Bell was the best linebacker in Chiefs history

I knew immediately that this had to be someone that never actually saw the Chiefs before DT.

To argue that DT was a better LB is ridiculous.
I loved DT and what he brought to the Chiefs, but he was nowhere near the complete player that Bell was.

The number of times that Bell went after the QB would only amount to about 10-15% of the the number that DT did, and even though they didn't keep sack records, it is believed that he had close to 90 sacks for his career, well over half of DT's number.

He was also was an outstanding run defender, and pass defender, collecting 26 interceptions for his career.

For all that he brought to the Chiefs, DT was no Bobby Bell.

FTR, I checked, and I was right about the writer.

Dumbass is barely old enough to wipe his own ass.

I'd say this place needs more than just my insights.

It's kinda lonely around here, ain't it?

Dont you have some Milk to deliver-lol

I have been lucky enough to have met both DT and Bell-both very gracious and nice people. Bell-even though he was up there in years-was still a pretty big man-it didnt take too much imagination to picture him younger and destroying players on the other team. i was at every home game DT played in-including playoffs-but never saw Bell-so i will have to take your word for it. If he was better than DT-that would probably make him the best LB in history.
